Tell us your love story!

Jason and I first dating in fifth grade, he was my first boyfriend and he took me to my very first school dance. Fast-forward about 10 years and that’s where our true love story begins. After being friends for years, Jason and I began dating during my senior year at UK and after 4 years of dating Jason proposed.

How did Jason propose?

Jason proposed in the living room of our first home together! He had previously bought me a sapphire ring, after our second year of dating, that I wore daily. One day, after leaving it at home, I texted Jason afraid that I had lost it! When I returned home, I frantically searched the house with Jason’s “help.” What Jason found was not my sapphire ring, but an engagement ring. He then got down on one knee and the rest is history!

How did you choose your venue?

Jason and I both fell in love with the beauty and history of Warrenwood Manor. The house, the barn and the fields provided scenery for our day that was so lovely. The idea of our love story becoming a part of that history was special to us. We knew that the memories that we made there would last a lifetime.

What elements were most important for your wedding day to you?

Right off the bat I knew I wanted gorgeous flowers and great pictures to remember the day. I wanted my guests to feel comfortable and welcomed, and for the day to run smoothly and be stress free.

What advice would you give other brides?

Think about ways that your wedding represents you and your fiancé. You will definitely want to look back and see both personalities represented. Also, I’d advise you to have a clear vision, but to also let the wedding professionals do what they’re good at. Whether it’s creativity or helping you stick to your budget, the people you choose are awesome at what they do! Allowing them to help you will be much less stressful and the outcome will be lovely.
