Favorite part of planning process: Seeing all of the colors and ideas come to together.
Choosing a venue: Minimizing cost was important to us! The combination of Gratz Park gave us a beautiful outdoor wedding and The Carnegie Center gave us an elegant reception and a possible rain location. Sam loves woodworking, so he created a beautiful backdrop for our vows. Recognizing that The Carnegie Center was the original public library in Lexington we included historic books as part of our centerpieces.
Important elements: I felt so beautiful in my dress and couldn’t wait for Sam to see me. Just being with him from the first look through the rest of the day felt perfect. We also used a custom set of vows that meant a lot to us.
Advice to other couples: Your wedding should represent you and your future spouse, so pick a few things that matter to you. Focus both your time and resources on these key details. Don’t’ get weighed down by all of the other details, but make a list and check one or two off every week then move on. You should enjoy the process and keeping it simple will make it more fun!
