Tell us your love story!
Kevin and I met on the bus my freshman year of high school. I had a friend who thought he was really cute, and he caught my eye too! We dated through high school but went our separate ways for college. He stayed my best friend through all of that, so we rekindled our romance right before law school. We’ve been back together since 2010. But, counting high school, it’s been almost 11 years!
How did he propose?
He told me our boss, who is a hobby pilot, wanted to practice take offs and landing with two people. So, on Mother’s Day, we went off to the airport. Our boss had “already practiced” some, so it made me less suspicious. We got up in the air and we were flying around, and the guys start pointing out landmarks and other things. Kevin had painted “Marry Me?” on his parents house!
How did you choose your venue?
Apiary was the first place I looked at. We visited and I fell in love with the space and we didn’t consider anywhere else! We got married at the old courthouse though, because we are both lawyers!
What elements were the most important to you for your wedding day?
Food was the very most important! We love to eat! The venue and flowers were second because we also love to entertain. I wanted our wedding to feel like an elegant dinner party at a beautiful house. Apiary was the perfect space for that!
What advice would you give other brides?
Relax! I promise it all will come together. Also, the day flies by. Enjoy every minute of it.
