How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends, but Jon initially reached out on Facebook almost eight years ago after seeing a picture of me on a friend’s page. Hundreds of messages were exchanged and then a few months later we actually met. Things moved pretty fast from there and we have been together ever since!
How did he propose?
Jon proposed along the Battery in Charleston, South Carolina shortly after sunset. We had travelled to Charleston many times together so the city is dear to the both of us. It was a perfect weekend of eating and celebrating our way through our favorite city, all topped off by our stay at the gorgeous Dewberry Hotel.
How did you choose your venue?
We wanted somewhere that could provide most of the services, but also had a lot of character and vintage flare.
How long were you engaged?
12 Months
What elements were most important for your wedding day to you?
Our family and friends had been so supportive of us, so we wanted our wedding to show how grateful we were. We also wanted to spend time with the people we love, but to also find time for intimate moments between just the two of us.
What advice would you give other brides?
Parts of the process are stressful, but that is just the nature of planning a wedding. It is important during the times of stress to think about why you are getting married. Once I thought about the support from our friends and family, celebrating our relationship and making a lifelong commitment to each other, the little details did not seem as important.
