How did he propose?
I was on a trip with my two best friends in Myrtle Beach when Josh drove down. On the last day of the trip he surprised me with a proposal! He was waiting at the end of a pier overlooking the ocean. I was completely surprised and we had the rest of the day to celebrate!
How did you choose your venue?
We wanted a venue that provided us with beautiful scenery and gave us the option to have our ceremony and reception in one place. We were able to use the outdoor ceremony site, large banquet hall and catering at Champion Trace. The laid-back atmosphere and gorgeous grounds were exactly what we were looking for.
How long were you engaged?
We were engaged for a year and two months. We had a lot of family from out of town so we wanted to give them enough time to prepare to make the trip to Lexington.
What elements were most important for your wedding day?
We really wanted to be married outside and made sure to find a venue that allowed that option. We also wanted incredible photos from our wedding that we could always look back at and cherish. It was important for us to find a photographer who was outgoing and would enjoy our day as much as we would.
What advice would you give other brides?
Try not to stress about the little things and do not try to please everyone else. Pick the things that are most important to you. Also, enjoy every second of the planning and the wedding day. It goes by so fast so soak it all in. Lastly, I recommend doing a first look with you groom. It was the one moment we got to be completely alone and enjoy each other’s presence on our big day!
