TELL US YOUR LOVE STORY!
Nathan and I have been together for a year and a half. On New Year’s Eve I had a small party at my house with a few friends. I was single at the time and one of my friends talked me into downloading Tinder, though I deleted it the next day I was on there long enough to “match” with Nathan. We talked all New Years Day and had our first dat two days later. For several months Nathan kept asking me to be his girlfriend but I wanted to hold out until I was 100% sure he was the one. That April we went on a trip to Nashville, TN and that is when I asked him to make our relationship official.
HOW DID HE PROPOSE?
On July 4th, Nate’s family always has a huge cookout for family and friends. Before the cookout, I was at my parent’s pool and Nate told me he was helping his family set up of the big cookout, but he was actually picking up the ring! During the cookout, I could tell Nate was very antsy but I had no idea why. After eating the sun set and the fireworks began. Nate then asked me to stand up and then I had a pretty good idea about what was about to happen. He got down on one knee and said “Will you marry me?” underneath the fireworks. I was lucky to get the word “yes” out! I was shaking and had butterflies in my stomach all night from excitement.
HOW DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR VENUE?
We knew we wanted a barn venue, and we decided on The Bluegrass Wedding Barn. It had our date, a rain backup plan (thank goodness because it did pour the day of our wedding), and most importantly air-conditioning.
WHAT ELEMENTS WERE MOST IMPORTANT FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY TO YOU?
I wanted a beautiful dress and venue. I also wanted a good quality photographer and videographer to capture all the memories.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER COUPLES?
Do not ask for too many opinions, do what makes you happy!
