Tell us your love story!
Houston and I met at Bluegrass Christian Camp in the summer of 2013. He wanted to date but I did not because I was going to college in Nashville and said, “I don’t believe in long distance relationships.” The next year at camp, Houston had matured a lot during his first year at college and I was like, “Hey, so I’ll go to Olive Garden with you now,” and the rest is history! We were long distance my last two years of college and then I moved home after graduating in May and he proposed that August before his senior year.
How did he propose?
Houston proposed on August 7th, 2016. We went to church together that morning and then ate at Olive Garden, where we had our first date. Houston came up with an excuse to go down to Bluegrass Christian Camp where he proposed under the gazebo with a photographer to capture it all!
What elements were most important for your wedding day?
I wanted to make sure my bridal party and guests had a great time so the food was very important. Gourmet Goodies did not disappoint, the food was delicious. The other big thing was my dress. I wanted it to be perfect and as soon as I found it, I knew! I wish I could wear it every day.
What advice would you give other brides?
The best advice I can give is to prioritize, pick the things that are important to you and make them perfect. Everything else will fall into place. Above all, relax and soak up every second!
