Tell Us Your Love Story!
David and I met sophomore year in high school. We actually didn’t like each other when we first met, but by the end of the school year, he won me over and webecame very good friends. After keeping in touch over the summer, he asked meon a date where he eventually ended up asking meto be his girlfriend. We became high school sweethearts. Six years later, I finally became Mrs. Kiser.
How did he propose?
David proposed in the same barn where we had our wedding reception. We booked our venue before we were engaged. On the day I thought we were dropping off the deposit, I opened the barn doors to a spread of candles and flowers with our song playing in the background. David swears he was not nervous, but when he got down on one knee he just barely whispered, “Marry me?”
How did you choose your venue?
I always knew I wanted an outdoor spring or summer wedding with a barn-like reception. I first saw the Event Barn at Evan’s Orchard when my parents moved toa house across the street from it. I instantly knew it was my dream venue. It was beautiful and the people who work there are wonderful.
How long were you engaged?
About a year and a month. We didn’t want a long engagement. We just wanted long enough for usto be able to plan for everything we wanted at our wedding.
What elements were most important for your wedding day?
Photography was at the top of my list when it came to priorities for the big day. We worked so hard to have this beautiful wedding and I wanted to make sure I had the pictures to remember it.
What advice would you give other brides?
Everyone says it, but, don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy your day because itreally does fly by! Leave everything to your vendors and take in every moment ofyour wedding. Every day I look back and want to do it all over again
