How did you meet?
Tim and I actually met when we were 17 and on our high school spring break. We never dated, but always kept in touch. I had the biggest crush on him and it turns out he had always liked me as well. Tim would buy me glasses of wine when I visited his bar at Harry’s, and sent me Facebook messages every year on my birthday. We ran into each other in January of 2016 at Kroger, and the rest is history. On the day of our first date he sent me a dozen roses; he was on his A game for sure. Our first kiss was magical, and every day since has been the best day of my life!
Proposal:
Tim proposed while we were on vacation in Virgin Gorda 9 months after our first date. I never saw it coming! We visited the baths of Virgin Gorda, and after swimming to shore he pulled a ring out of the boat captain’s bag. It was absolutely incredible; we were both shaking so much!
Venue:
Tim had worked some weddings and events at Champions Golf Club while in college and he suggested the venue. We both loved the greenery of the golf course and the idea of market lights over the patio.
How long were you engaged?
Almost a year, he proposed on October 26th 2016 and we got married on October 14th2017.
What elements were most important for your wedding day?
I was most concerned with being stressed or rushed, so I focused on solely enjoying the day. I surrounded myself with trusted vendors, who could be a support system when things got crazy. I chose to get ready in my own house with my four bridesmaids and a few other close friends. It was a dream!
Advice for other brides:
I would say the most important thing is to enjoy the process! You only get to be engaged once and the times goes by so fast. Also, make sure to focus on our own voice and opinions when it comes to planning. It is your wedding day and should be the best day of your life. My engagement days have been some of the happiest. You are surrounded by so many loved ones who are constantly cheering you on.
